Tedworth Park Polo (formerly Tidworth Polo Club) was acquired by the Armed Forces Equine Charity (AFEC) in 2019 as part of their charitable portfolio.
AFEC supports the Armed Forces community in three main areas, by providing:
- Access to a broad range of Equine Sports and Recreation, including Polo, for serving Military personnel and Veterans.
- Equine-assisted therapy, recovery and rehabilitation for veterans and Wounded in Service (WIS) personnel, and equine-assisted learning for children and young people.
- Advice, guidance and appropriate financial support to Armed Forces Equestrian Centres and welfare hubs, so that they remain sustainable, compliant and efficient.
AFEC is responsible for the RMAS Equestrian Centre, the Shrivenham Equestrian Centre (within the Defence Academy), the Catterick Garrison Saddle Club, the Tedworth Equestrian Centre and the Tedworth Hub (Cafe in the Park), as well as the Tedworth Park Polo Club
AFEC fully supports Tedworth Park Polo Club (TPPC) and invests considerably in the club to support its provision of affordable polo for the Armed Forces Community, in particular for veterans and para-polo players.
This winter, supported by AFEC and in collaboration with the charity “Power of Polo” and Salisbury-based homeless 
charity Alabaré, TPPC ran a 5-day “Zero to Hero” course for veterans who have suffered homelessness. This was incredibly successful and was marked by a very moving Remembrance Day Service in the Polo Arena on 11th November at 1100 hrs.
The veterans, most of whom had never ridden before, spent 4 days in the arena learning to ride, hit balls and understand the basic rules of polo. At the end, they had a small 2-chukka tournament, the standard of which was quite remarkable after such a short time.
